The insights of the I Matter Framework can help you with typical children and with children with additional challenges

If you have a child who is struggling or challenging, it can be very hard to know how to help.  Where do you start when waiting lists for CAMHS and other support services are long, and when nothing seems to make sense?   How would it be to know that you were really well prepared with key insight and tools to help you work well with with your child's school and with other family members and with other professionals?  The important thing to recognise is that whatever the explanations for your child's current challenges, YOU have a key role to play.

We have two key ways of learning about I Matter:  Everyday Awareness Introductory Webinars for families of children with typical needs and Supported In-Depth Online Learning.if there are additional concerns or needs..  If you know that more support is needed right now, the I Matter assessment and recommendation process can get you started promptly on thinking about how you can best help your child.

The I Matter Training Journey can then help you to understand everyday situations more deeply so that you can enjoy your role and help your child overcome their challenges!  Please note parents and carers must have a recommendation from an Approved I Matter Link or Lead Professional.  If you are interested but your school or local professionals are not involved, do speak to them about your interest and about our training for professional links.

I Matter Training helps parents and carers to help children by taking you through a carefully designed practical integration of what decades of research evidence is telling us makes most difference when children are struggling or challenging.  In an I Matter Training Journey you will be learning about stress, brain development, child development and the adult role and the power of our beliefs and attitudes.   You will also be able to learn how to use this understanding to help your child progress in overcoming their specific challenges..through a carefully structured approach.

Because best practice with children who are struggling always involves team work, wherever possible we encourage parents to take part in I Matter Courses and Consultations with support from member schools and services.   When school or services become members this informs parents that professionals who are working with your child will have an understanding of the I Matter Framework and are working to support a shared approach with parents.

Schools and services taking part in the Organisational Award may be supporting the individual awards  scheme.  If your school or service is not involved, you can show them this site and encourage them to contact us.
