I Matter Training for Residents with a Kendal GP

Over the last 6 years work has been progressing in the Kendal area in partnership with the Kendal GP's and local schools.  We are proud to be developing thinking about relationship health practice in the community.  We run the first specialist Relationship Health Service in the NHS which offers an early brief intervention psychoeducational pathway for parents and are progressing the first local I Matter Community Wheel programme.  The aim is to help parents to understand more about how to help their own child overcome challenges with a relationship health approach.  We work in partnership with schools and other services

KPCN-

Dr Cathy Betoin works with Jacqui Wilson, a highly experienced relationship health practitioner to offer the Kendal pathway

Jacqui trained as a gestalt psychotherapist, and also worked as a foster carer. Jacqui and Cathy have worked together for over 10 years in child and family services.

We now run a specialist Relationship Health assessment and training programmme together in the Kendal, South Lakes area employed by the NHS Kendal Primary Care Network and with social prescribing.  So we work actively with GP's and Schools in supporting parents and carers and young people.

Jacqui also works with Cathy on the independent programme and on practitioner training.   Over the past years we have worked with hundreds of parents and professionals

We are excited to be moving forward with a project to develop more understanding of a relationship health and I Matter and community wheel approach in the Kendal area.

We are working with Kendal Primary Care Network, Relationship Health Matters CIC and Westmorland and Furness Council to take forward training for health and education Certified I Matter Link professionals as part of developing a more joined up approach.

We currently have some matched funding for 12 schools who would like to build their capacity to support parents who are motivated to learn.
