The I Matter Award Schemes
An introduction to I Matter thinking for professionals and parents who are caring for struggling or challenging children
THE I MATTER AWARD SCHEMES
The I Matter Award schemes are the structured process that we offer to support an I Matter Learning Journey.
You may feel you know quite a bit about children - and maybe you are quite skilled at what you do. However can you explain WHY you do what you do? Especially with the child who is that bit more challenging or complex? What is the underlying theory and evidence on which you make decisions? Do your decisions and practices support your child or children's healthy well=being and development? How confident are you when it comes to working in a team with others or in explaining your rationale for your decisions to each other?
The I Matter Awards provide a structured way of ensuring your everyday practice at home or in work is grounded in a strong understanding of practical robust theory linked to what the research evidence is really saying about how to support children's mental health and well-being - drawn together in an easy to understand set of ideas called the I Matter Framework. You will be able to assess your own personal and/or collective starting points and then you will be able to review your progress as you pursue an I Matter Learning journey over time so that you can see best impact and results

What are the I Matter Award Schemes?
Participation in the I Matter Award Schemes offers people and organisations under pressure an opportunity to take time out to think about important relationships and about what the research evidence is saying will make the most difference. The training is designed to support self awareness and insight as key to being able to make informed choices in family, work or community roles.
The I Matter Award Schemes are specifically focused on improving the health and happiness of adult-child relationships as key to mental health and well-being of families and communities across the life span. Participation in the Award Scheme, offers stimulating learning, new perspectives on everyday experiences, fun time chatting with others and making new friends and opportunities to discover new interests and talents.
The I Matter Awards offer a structure through which to develop essential skills for life and work through improving confidence in core relationships as well as a valuable mark of achievement.
The I Matter Award Scheme can be used to support important thinking in a variety circumstances - supporting all generations and all key roles to successfully navigate the challenges of life. In particular it offers a structured approach for schools and services to support better and more effective partnership with parents through introducing key insights that are key to effective working together.
The I Matter Organisational Award Scheme is the process that licenses organisations that work with adults and young people such as schools, colleges, youth groups and clubs to run I Matter Award programmes. The Licensed Organisation (LO), trains and supports approved Link and Lead Professionals and Advanced practitioners in partnership with other local providers. Professionals and parents and young people pay for a Participation Place and are supported by Links and Leads who support them through their programmes, helping them to reflect on the I Matter ideas and their implications, set personal objectives to build their confidence and achieve their Awards
