Welcome!

A key objective of this project has been to work out how to make it financially viable to support relationship health and I Matter informed practice as part of a prevention and early intervention offer.

Financial viability matters for learners, practitioners and organisations.

However, when it comes to relationship health practice we find a significant gap in provision around core preparation in the basics

Below you will find some initial examples of how relationship health practice that provides opportunities for individuals and parents and carers to learn more about their own key roles, can be enabled through collaboration between primary care and schools.

Typically when it comes to options for parents we see funding solutions that are based on fully privately funded, fully organisation/grant funded.
However in this situation schools commonly find themselves doing work with families that they do not feel funded for.

What, in our view,  is missing is an embedded solution that enables parents to contribute to the development of services that they want.

For this to work in the context of a complex school community, the solution needs, practical and affordable:

+ Entry level accessible to all solutions
+ Targetted learning options
+ Longer term focussed learning options

This is the structure offered in the I Matter Learning Journey by Get Started, Fundamentals and Deep DIve.

We make a clear distinction between the costs of the online accounts and the costs of study support

How parent contributions fit

  • Online learning can be:

    • school-funded

    • parent-funded

    • grant-funded

    • or mixed

  • Study support is:

    • optional

    • relational

    • locally delivered
→ therefore appropriate for parent contribution

One option that will can be clear:

Online learning accounts can be discounted or subsidised when purchased through schools with bulk purchasing options

Study support fees are learner-paid, with up to 70% of that fee returned to the local organisation or practitioner delivering the support.

Our goal is to:

  • makes the economics transparent

  • shows schools how they can recover costs

  • makes practitioner involvement attractive

  • avoids I Matter carrying delivery risk

For Small / Entry Schools

“An Entry Level pathway helps you bring relationship health thinking into family engagement with minimal demand. 50 new families can access Phase 1 (Get Started) with Community Wheel membership and optional facilitated sessions — a perfect induction point for new starters.”

For Medium / Targeted Schools

“Targeted support is ideal for specific cohorts — for example, Year 1 parents or families needing more structured learning. This pathway includes Phase 1–2 online learning plus study support facilitated in small groups.”

For Large / Embedded Schools

“Embedded support prioritises whole-school culture. All staff and families access Phase 1–2, enhanced study support, and facilitation by a licensed practitioner — building relational skills across the community over time.”
