I Matter Relationship Health For Community and Schools

Education to support prevention of problems

A RELATIONSHIP HEALTH APPROACH TO CHILD AND ADULT MENTAL HEALTH

Relationship Health is an issue that has been overlooked but it is absolutely key to best outcomes
in mental health
in physical health
in education
in making communities safe places
to our relationship with our environment and each other
and to ourselves

PROGRESS TO DATE

We have started work with the Kendal Integrated Care Community and Primary Care Network
and with schools and services in the Kendal South Lakes area aiming to progress
the development of relationship health as an embedded community strategy.
We see this as an approach to improving child and adult wellbeing.

Relationship Health is not a training that can be located in one
member of a school or service team.  Instead the need is to build shared insight and a team approach.
We are feeling our way forward and are keen to support others who want to explore more too.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Building Community:
Relationship Health is an approach that is based on agencies and individuals working together
In particular we are interested in helping Health and Education to work more closely together
To take a Community Hub Forward you will need to create a local lead Relationship Health team

This will include:
At least one named GP with the support of their primary care network
At least one primary school and secondary school with support of senior leads and governors
Ideally: at least one experienced local practitioner with an interest in children and families.

These professionals will need a commitment to completing Five Steps and Certification Training.
With a focus on developing thinking in their own community.

Please contact us to talk about Getting Started and about a community connector account.
