I MATTER FOR LINKED PARENTS AND CARERS

The key to good child mental health and well-being is adult-child relationship health.  Adults at home and school have a key role to play

Through studying the ideas set out in the I Matter Framework , adults can learn to recognise what is happening in relationships and can learn to recognise and monitor their our own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, as a prelude to being able to support young people with their thoughts feelings and behaviours.

This increased awareness supports the desire for learning and the skills to manage ourselves and make effective changes as required.

You can study The I Matter Framework for Self Help in your own time, at any time - about 24 or 48 hours of study at your own pace.  The study of the I Matter Framework is a stand-alone intervention that can help you to build your confidence in working with young people at home and at school and to enable you to make positive changes.  Study of the I Matter Framework will also give you a firm foundation if you decide to start individual  therapy. The I Matter Framework complements all therapy approaches and supports attachment aware and trauma aware practice in schools.

Study of the I Matter Framework and the skills involved will enable you to:

  • Face common life challenges with children and young people
  • Make sense of everyday problems
  • Make positive changes in how you think and react
  • Learn how to support your child and yourself through conflict and distress
  • Become more mindful
  • Manage emotions for yourself and your child including anxiety, low mood, anger and stress
  • Improve communication and relationships
  • Increase resilience and wellbeing at home and at school

All packages Includes registration and initial recommendations and must have referral from a named link or lead professional
