PS: There is of course lots written about healthy relationships but Relationship Health (the noun) is something more. It is a thing we can actively care of!  Now there is even a book on it (see below).

The science shows us that adults who care have important power to change well-being:  for themselves, for children, and for others!

You can make changes that matter... If you want to prevent or address difficulties in your family or community, or if you or your pupils/clients/patients are currently:

  • Struggling with wellbeing
  • Being irritable, impatient and not getting on with others
  • Experiencing sleeping, eating or related difficulties
  • Having difficulties in peer, adult-child or adult-adult relationships
  • Experiencing anxiety or loss of confidence
  • Displaying behaviours such as withdrawal, refusing to cooperate, crying, hitting or other aggression
  • Not progressing in home, school, community or work roles

So we support insight and community building and the developing of skills.  Your decision making matters.  So we encourage you to start with You and your role - making sure you have strong foundations for your own roles in relationships.

We work in the Kendal area with a wide range of professionals and organisations.

We'd like to offer you a map through the maze - and help to read the map and then live it!.

I’m Dr Cathy Betoin and this is Jacqui Wilson. We’ve been working with adults and with children and families and the professionals who support them for over 2 decades. I am a Clinical Psychologist and an experienced teacher and I was also a confused parent.

Jacqui trained as a gestalt psychotherapist, and also worked as a foster carer. Both of us worked in CAMHS services for many years. We now work in a primary care setting in Kendal and describe ourselves as Relationship Health practitioners.

We know what it feels like to be lost in a world in which there are so many options and no clear path forward. It can be a lonely, scary place. But, we also know what it’s like to come out on the other side - personally and professionally – and to see real transformations.

Over the past 20 years, we’ve worked directly with hundreds of adults, children and families and with their professional networks. It has been our great privilege to see the changes that can happen when the clarity emerges, sometimes after years of struggle and the power of building community networks.  When change happens it is always led by someone determined.

Now we are focusing on preparation and prevention and a global view. So if you are a looking for answers or for some solid foundations for decision making at work/ home we know the maze is difficult to navigate on your own - and a good map really helps!

We understand your struggles, and would love to help by being your guides, showing you how to prevent big challenges or help you find your way forward!

All our best,
Cathy and Jacqui

“The I Matter approach of considering the adults needs alongside those of the children is such a useful way to look at things and has turned the dynamics on its head for me. I have realised my stress levels are having a huge impact on all of us as a family and learning to change this is starting to make a difference.”

“EVERY teacher and parent would benefit from this programme. Parent carers are a group of people I would like to get this to. This would be a fantastic opportunity to bring a very isolated group of people together to improve the situation they are in. ”

“The registration questionnaire really got me thinking. I realised how isolated I had let myself become and that this was not helping me or my child. I took action the next day and phoned a friend. I also made another follow-up appointment to speak with my GP. ”
