I Matter Training is a flexible evidence informed  resource that can be used in a number of reflective practice that can support staff wellbeing and confidence and organisational and cultural change.     Professionals who take part in our training start from a very wide range of starting points in terms of the challenges they are facing and the previous experiences they have.

Recent feedback

Experienced Teaching assistant:  The training has really given me food for thought.  I have never thought of the children as stressed beofre.   I am starting to observe more closely and am trying to understanding better why children are challenging.   Before I just saw them as nnaughty

Experienced GP:  Since completing your training I am seeing so many patients who could benefit.   In the past I would have just made a referral to CAMHS and felt a bit pessimistic.

Experienced Reception Teacher   I am feeling so much more confident in working with parents.  In the past I did not feel I had permission to ask about what was happening at home.    Now we see it as part of caring for the whole child and family.

In our work with organisations we aim to help you identify those members of your team who have a natural ability to connect with parents and other colleagues who are struggling.   We aim to support you in building an inhouse team process that can embed these important ideas in your school or service practices through being part of your school or service development plan..    I Matter ideas may look simple but their implementation can sometimes be more challenging than first imagined.

So we monitor impact in a number of different ways.   We have a tool called the I Matter Q which includes validated and bespoke measures used as part of the regstration and follow-up process.  We also gather feedback in the form of written quotes throughout the learning process.    We want to ensure that participants are having a good experience and we like to pick up and respond to issues as they arise.

Though our core target is improved adult-child relationship wellbeing and confidence, impact can be observed in terms of individual participants stories, and in terms of impact on schools and community practice where action research is taking place.    When supporting the most complex situations over the longer time we carefully monitor developmental progression.

We gather all this data carefully together and are exploring different means of presenting it

It's quite simple really - we offer resources and encourage people to take time to think and learn about what is happening around them..
