The I Matter Coaching Programme

Our mission is to help adults to become less stressed and able to enjoy healthier happier relationships with children - especially those who have additional needs - so that children can develop solid confidence in relationships and manage the everyday challenges of life.
I Matter Coaching refers to the support that we offer you to help you achieve the healthier happier relationship that you want with your focus child in school, home or community settings. We are interested in helping develop your insight and confidence so that you can be effective in working with others to help your child build their skills and confidence
There are several elements to an I Matter Coaching Programme that delivers results:
+ Deciding what key relationship you want to focus on - at work or at home
+ Learning some important ideas (The I Matter Framework)
+ Getting support to Implement Your Learning
+ Working with us and others over a longer term view for the goals that you want.
The I Matter Coaching Programme incorporates careful assessment, online learning, and focussed support.
Our programmes (more details below) are designed to support you on a longer term process.
You may not need to do the whole journey but if you want a happier healthier relationship with your child or you want to support others in seeing these results then we want to help!
I Matter Training and Coaching progresses through carefully designed stages.
Wherever possible the journey progresses through supported online learning
Professionals join the Awareness Stage with others from their own community.
Parents join the Awareness Stage with support from Link and Lead professionals in their own community.
At each stage we offer you a Mission Challenge that involves i) learning important ideas and ii) putting these ideas into practice so that you can see results.
Awareness building can come in a variety of forms:
+ introductory webinars
+ A two day intensive introduction
+ whole school-service induction
The First Steps: Nuggets and Gems Stage
The First Steps Stage offers a blended learning experience including a workshop, online learning, and and online questionnaire. This process creates thinking about current starting points and helps create a baseline which we can use to make recommendations and against which to assess progress of an individual adult-child relationship.
The Foundation Stage: Confusion to Clarity
The Foundation stage includes theory and theory to practice support elements. You will learn how to draw together key well-established evidence into a practical framework for everyday decision making.
The Intermediate Stage: Thinking Developmentally
The intermediate stage includes more theory and theory to practice support. You will drill down into the details of early social-emotional development and learn how to use tools that enable you to spot developmental gaps and work effectively to meet needs for individual and group practice.
The Advanced Stages: Supporting Others
Link Training - Becoming a Licensed Link Professional and obtaining a Link Organisational Licence
Link training enables you to become part of a network that is supporting of others in your own community who are actively wanting to learn. You can become a Link on completion of Foundation training.
Becoming a licensed Lead Professional and obtaining a Lead Organisational Licence
The advanced stages are all about developing the skills and confidence to support others on the learning journey. In the Lead Professional role you will learn how to be an effective in offering study support for online learning in your setting, You must complete Intermediate Training to become a Trainee Lead
Embedding Developmental Thinking
A key advanced stage of practice involves embedding developmental thinking into your systems practice. This is a step of looking at the everyday details of how your setting is supporting both children and adults.
The Advanced Practitioner role for those supporting the most vulnerable children in the task of bringing about a co-ordinated approach supported by a well informed and skilled team and supporting this over time.
