Strengthen your understanding and skills
for home, work and community roles

Build yourself some solid I Matter foundations in just 90 days.
Learn to make sense of what is happening in your important relationships and develop more confidence about what might help next.
When life or relationships become difficult, it can be hard to understand what is happening, what to focus on and what may help.
I Matter Relationship Health Foundations brings together Get Started and I Matter Fundamentals in one supported learning journey. It offers a developmental framework for understanding how to strengthen personal resilence, adult–adult and adult–child relationships,
This includes recognising what happens to our capacities under pressure, and identifying practical next steps within our own roles and settings. The foundation course is about building personal resilience.

My name is Dr Cathy Betoin.
Clinical psychologist, experienced teacher and parent.
The aim of learning I Matter is not to make difficult circumstances disappear or enable us to remain calm whatever happens. It is to help us notice our own patterns sooner, understand ourselves and others more clearly, and recover enough capacity to respond with greater choice.
What would it be like to:
understand why relationships become harder under pressure;
recognise when you or someone else is losing access to important capacities;
feel clearer about what is—and is not—your responsibility;
steady yourself sufficiently to think about what matters next;
respond more constructively in adult–adult and adult–child relationships;
strengthen the conditions for connection, contribution and repair?
Relationship Health Foundations will not give you control over other people or guarantee change in every relationship. It can give you a clearer map for understanding everyday situations and deciding what you can do next.
Psychological preparedness and
Relationship Health Resilence
Psychological preparedness involves understanding how pressure can affect our bodies, thinking and relationships—and developing ways to notice, respond and seek support when our capacities become stretched.
Relationship resilience does not mean being unaffected by difficult experiences. It includes the capacity to adapt, maintain appropriate boundaries, draw on support and find routes back to reflection, connection and constructive action.

When relationships feel difficult and you’re unsure how best to help—at home, at work or in your community
—I Matter gives you a map and the foundations to find a way forward.
