Welcome to I Matter for Parents-Carers

We help parents-carers gain a new perspective on the way forward for a full range of challenges that affect children with typical and complex needs.

The I Matter Journey is all about equipping yourself for confidence with helping your child.   So if you are ready to make a commitment to the learning involved, we are here to support you.  Try the self-assessment and speak to professionals in your community.

SELF-ASSESS YOUR READINESS FOR THE  I MATTER CORE JOURNEY

If you are a parent-carer and you want to take part in the I Matter Core Learning Journey, then we start you off with a a carefully designed introduction involving an assessment, and recommendations process and some initial training  This initial Step is offered via our I Matter Clinic Services.

At present there are just three I Matter Clinic Pathways
i) A Kendal based Specialist Relationship Health Service that requires a referral via the Kendal GP network - this is offered via an NHS pilot.
ii) A South Lakes based Specialist Post Adoption Support Relationship Health Service that requires a referral via post adoption services.
iii) An I Matter Direct Assessment and Recommendations Service.
+ For Complex needs - there must be a local member organisation and a Trainee Lead or Trainee Advanced Practitioner actively supporting the referral
+ For Everyday needs - there must be an approved Link professional - who has completed I Matter Core Training supporting the referral.

We have funded and self-funding options for I Matter Direct Services.  But self-funding parents must also have a referral from an I Matter Approved Professional.

This process helps us ensure that parents have access to local informed support.    It is our intention to work with professionals to build more availability.  Leads in member organisations also run an Awareness Step 1 programme without need of a clinic assessment.

We are currently accepting new enquiries for the I Matter Kendal Clinic. Our current patch is families with a GP in the Kendal area or linked to post adoption services.  Please speak to your GP who will contact us via our agreed referral route and one of our staff will contact you to discuss the circumstances regarding your needs.  Once a referral has been made, you can also send us a message via www.imattertraining.com/contact-us.
