What should I expect in an I Matter Adult-Adult Relationship Health group?

In I Matter adult-adult relationship health  groups, you will be learning about the overlooked issue of relationship health.  The focus is on how taking responsbiility for our own wellbeing can actively improve all forms of relationships whether intimate, in extended family or with colleagues, Decades of research evidence has demonstrated that relationship health supports wellbeing and confidence of adults and children and that it is supported by self awareness and good communication

Courses generally run for 90min hours each week, over a period of 6 weeks (a total of 12 hours).

Groups will be kept small and have a maximum of 8 participants and are lead with 1 or 2 facilitators. You will be introduced to the I Matter Framework Fundamentals which uses some key posters to explain important evidence based ideas.  You will learn more about  child development, brain development and your own role in relationship health.  You will be taught skills of “Emotion focussed communication” including why these skills help relationships get stronger. You will be practicing these skills throughout the course.

You will get a chance to meet other people who are focussed on building their sklils offering iopportunities to share and learn in a safe and supportive environment

What should I expect in an
I Matter group?

The groups run for approx 90 mins each week, over a period of 6 weeks. Groups will have a maximum of 8 parents and be run with 1 or 2 facilitators. You will be taught about relationship health and the I Matter Famework and introduced to the skills of “Emotion Focussed Communication”.  You will be building self awareness and practicing these skills throughout the course.

Who facilitates the I Matter groups?


Each group is facilitated by fully trained I Matter accredited professionals.

Groups are currently all run by Clinical Psychologists and experienced CAMHS practitioners.  

They can however be run by a range of experienced professionals.  

What is the cost of an I Matter group?

The cost for groups vary according to details and may sometimes be funded and sometimes self-funded

Supported Fundamentals groups are approx £600, or £1100 for two

Online groups are £500, or £900 for two

All groups are to be paid prior to commencement.

This includes 12 hours of group, the support of a trained professional, online access. handouts and resources plus light refreshments each session if face to face.
