Overview

I Matter Training consists of a flexible suite of learning resources designed to support relationship health practice across individuals, professionals, and organisations.

The licensing framework is designed to:

  • Enable safe, scalable access to learning
  • Support consistent, ethical use of materials
  • Allow organisations to develop localised, governed learning hubs
  • Differentiate between personal learning, professional practice, and organisational delivery

1. Personal Use License (Standard)

For all participants (self-directed learning only)

Scope

  • Personal, non-commercial use only
  • One login per person
  • No copying, sharing, or redistribution

Includes access to:

  • Introduction
  • Level 1: Get Started
  • Level 2: Fundamentals
  • Level 3: Deep Dive (where included)

Not permitted:

  • Running workshops or groups using materials
  • Sharing resources within organisations or teams
  • Formal facilitation or consultation using I Matter content

2. Practitioner Licensing (read alongside Organisation Licensing)

Practitioner licences relate to professional role-based use of knowledge, not standalone training delivery rights.

Key Principle

Level 2+ licences allow:

  • Use of concepts in professional practice
  • Informal reference to learning materials
  • Contribution to relationship health thinking within role

Level 2+ licences do NOT allow:

  • Running formal training programmes or structured workshop series
  • Independent delivery of I Matter courses

Practitioner Roles

Level 2+ Informed Practitioner

  • Supports organisational understanding of relationship health
  • Contributes to strategy and reflective practice

Level 2+ Link Professional

  • Supports assisted access and signposting
  • Works with readiness-based engagement to learning pathways

Level 3+ Child Practitioner

  • Direct work with children/young people in extended relational roles

Level 4+ Lead Professional

  • Supports entry-level workshops and structured learning engagement
  • Supports online learning participation

Level 5+ Lead Plus Professional

  • Oversight of Leads, Child Practitioners, and Link roles and supports professional training
  • Supports complex decision-making and escalation pathways

Level 6+ Advanced Practitioner

  • Strategic oversight of safe practice systems
  • Works across Lead Plus and senior roles to maintain governance and quality

Level 7 Advanced Trainer

  • Strategic oversight of trainer development systems
  • Works across Lead Plus and senior roles to maintain governance and quality

3. Organisation Licensing (read alongside Practitioner Licensing)

Organisation licences enable development of local Relationship Health Learning Hubs.

Core Principle

Organisation licences govern:

  • Delivery infrastructure
  • Safeguarding systems
  • Staff development pathways
  • Community access structures

Levels

Level 1: Starter Licence

  • Entry into I Matter network
  • Access to basic resources
  • Eligibility for bursaries (if available)

Level 2: Core Professional CPD Licence

  • Bulk access to Level 1–2 accounts
  • Supports staff CPD pathways
  • Enables pilot family access schemes

Levels 3–6: Enhanced Practice Licences

Level 3: Link (Assisted Access)
  • Supports prevention-focused assisted self-help access
  • Enables pilot microprojects for early engagement
Level 3+: CYP Practitioner (Direct roles with child)
  • Supports focussed support of child with additional needs
  • Enables pilot microprojects for social emotional skills building
Level 4: Lead
  • Enables entry-level workshops (face-to-face or structured delivery)
  • Supports early intervention work (low–mild concern)
Level 5: Lead Plus
  • Supports targeted intervention pathways (moderate to high concern)
  • Includes assessment-informed decision-making support
Level 6: Advanced Practice
  • Governance and oversight of all practitioner levels
  • Ensures safe multi-role delivery and escalation pathways

Level 7 Advanced Trainer

  • Strategic oversight of trainer development systems
  • Works across Lead Plus and senior roles to maintain governance and quality



4. Microprojects (Local Delivery Structure)

Microprojects are structured, governed ways of delivering assisted or supported learning through local hubs.

Purpose

To enable safe, locally adapted implementation of I Matter learning in real-world settings.


Requirements for a Microproject

Each microproject must include:

  • Appropriate organisation licence (Level 2+ minimum)
  • Qualified practitioners (as appropriate to level)
  • Defined target audience
  • Safeguarding and governance structure
  • Evaluation plan

Core Principle

Non-professional referrals or expressions of concern typically require:

  • Level 5 or Level 6 microproject oversight

Microproject Types

Type 1: Starter Learning

  • Organisational onboarding and awareness

Type 2: Professional CPD

  • Staff development only

Type 3: Assisted Access Pilot (Link Level)

  • Prevention-focused self-help access
  • Controlled and supported engagement

Type 3+: CYP Practitioner (Link Level)

  • Building social emotional skills through direct work with young people
  • Controlled and supported engagement

Type 4: Community Preparation (Low Concern)

  • Level 1–2 online learning for general population
  • Structured study support

Type 5: Early Intervention (Mild–Moderate Concern)

  • Targeted support via GP or referral pathways
  • Structured online learning with guidance

Type 6: Complex Support (Moderate–High Concern)

  • CAMHS-level complexity
  • Requires enhanced safeguarding and oversight

Type 7: Strategic Oversight & Workforce Development

  • Development of practitioners and hubs
  • System-wide governance and training leadership

5. Learning Access Streams (Simplified Overview)

Self-Funded Access

  • Level 1–2 online learning
  • Study support, coaching, and certification pathways
  • Some Level 3 access (hub dependent)

Organisational / Hub-Based Access

  • Funded or structured via local hubs
  • Includes workshops, facilitated learning, and supported pathways
