Family Support 


At present we are able to offer I Matter Family Support to Families that are linked with member schools and services - ie to those who have invested in the training of link and lead professionals.  Linked families can register for the program of training that we run for families that includes a programme of face to face and webinar supported classes

We restrict access in this way to ensure that we can be part of a supportive informed network around both child and family as this is often key with the more complex or challenging child.


When working with parents we generally pursue a very similar process to that which we pursue with professionals.   The key difference is that we take longer on the registration and recommendations process prior to the commencement of Foundation training and then we commonly progress through training at a slightly slower rate.  Sometimes when challenges are more long standing or escalated we can offer a more indepth assessment based on observations of relationships at home and at school

Then we work to empower families by sharing the I Matter Framework as a structured study programme so that by the end of the training parents will have made sustained shifts and will have an understanding that can faciliate their sustained confidence going forward with their own child or supporting our wider community in a Link Parent or Parent Mentor role.

Self-help training

Parents and carers who want to take part in our self-help programme options can sign up for 

+ The Essentials of Attachment Course

+ The Foundation Course study programme - which releases content gradually over 7 months



Group Workshops

We run a programme of workshops in partnership with schools and services



1:1 Support

When we have established relationships with schools and services we are able to offer focussed bespoke support that can individualised to specific needs and circumstances.



Supported Foundation Course A and B Learning

Wherever possible we recommend that parents and carers take part in a supported learning option eiither with 1:1 support or with a small face to face group or with webinar based learning.

All of our supported learning options commence with a registration and recommendations process.   This enables us to provide participants with informed guidance relevant to their specific needs.



Longer Term Complex Care Co-ordination

When we work with children with more complex longer term challenges we can offer and generally recommend a more detailed assessment process based on observations of the child in home and school settings and review of existing reports and guidance.

We can then work with a bespoke package to help adults and schools better under stand the needs of the child and work together to support the emergence of their social emotional skills and competencies and confidence in key relationships.

This work can be supported under specialist commissioned packages such as Adoption Support, Pupil Premium and Education Health Care Plans

We are keen to work with professionals who want to build their skills to provide this joined up thinking
