I Matter is a relationship health learning system that helps people understand and respond more effectively to the challenges of everyday relationships.
It is used across home, education, health, and community settings
We grow and apply one Relationship Health framework through two connected pathways: open learning and place-based partnership work.
We support three connected layers of work:
This is the main entry point into
I Matter.
It is a structured online learning pathway for individuals, families, and professionals.
It helps people understand:
+ relationship patterns
+ stress and communication
+ behaviour and wellbeing
+ all ages and stages
Professionals and Parents and Individuals follow the same learning pathway with varied levels of study support
👉 Available self-funded or through supported access in some settings.
Entry level learning supported through schools, health and community services
In some settings, I Matter learning is introduced in and integrated into wider systems of support. For examples:
+ Schools introducing the framework
+ GP and social prescribing consults
+ Commissioned or subsidised access for families or staff
+ Use of the framework in early help or pastoral contexts
Organisations do not deliver the full programme of support. They support engagement and enable access via mini projects.
👉This creates a joined-up system of introduction + access + support
Supporting applications and development of system capacity via small practitioner led pilots
In partnership with Relationship Health Matters CIC, we are developing and testing new approaches through pilots in association with. This includes:
Practitioner training pathways
Microprojects hosted via organisations
Local implementation applications
👉 This is the application layer of the system (not the delivery of curriculum)
👉 Focused on improving how relationship health learning is delivered and accessed.
This three part system helps us work with partners to test and refine how relationship health learning is delivered and integrated across real-world settings via microsteps.
This includes:
👉 This ensures the system continues to evolve based on real-world practice
The I Matter Relationship Health Learning Journey is available as a structured, self-paced online programme for anyone, anywhere.

These sessions focus on different life stages:
We work with professionals and practitioners in schools, health services, and other organisations to build understanding and skills for relationsip health practice aiming to equip them to gain confidence in their roles support access to the I Matter Learning Journey as part of wider early help, prevention, and professional development approaches.
This route is for those wanting to embed their learning within a professional or organisational context.
👉 This approach is most useful where learning is part of a wider system of support, rather than a stand-alone intervention.
Access to I Matter Online Learning via organisations can take varied formats - we aim to support microprojects
We endeavour to make it possible for individual practitioners and parents and commissioners to work out what feels manageable and a fit for them on a flexible basis.
👉 The level of support and involvement depends on local context and need.
Where professionals are supporting families more actively, additional training pathways to deepen understanding and confidence in using the approach within practice.
