Relationship health is a practical approach to improving wellbeing, relationships, and early support across families, schools, and health systems.

We grow and apply one Relationship Health framework through two connected pathways: open learning and place-based partnership work.

OVERVIEW DETAILS:
ACCESS OPTION 1: OPEN LEARNING (SELF-DIRECTED ACCESS)

I Matter Online Learning Journey

The I Matter Relationship Health Learning Journey is available as a structured, self-paced online programme for anyone, anywhere.

It is designed for people who want to learn independently and begin without delay.

The core Level 1–2 programme includes:

  • A Get Started Workshop
  • Weekly recorded Q&A (submitted questions included)
  • Monthly live online sessions

Monthly live sessions (Wednesdays 3:45–5:00pm)

These sessions focus on different life stages:

  • Week 1: Early Years (0–4)
  • Week 2: Primary Years (5–10)
  • Week 3: I Matter Local (Kendal area focus)
  • Week 4: Secondary Years (11–18)

👉 This route is used directly by individuals and families as well as professionals working independently.

ACCESS OPTION 2: SUPPORTED ACCESS (VIA ORGANISATIONS)

Working with organisations and practitioners

We work with schools, health services, and other organisations to support access to the I Matter Learning Journey as part of wider early help, prevention, and professional development approaches.

This route is for situations where learning is embedded within a professional or organisational context.

This may include:

  • funded or subsidised access for families or staff
  • integration into professional development or early help pathways
  • coordinated access through schools, GP practices, or local services

👉 This approach is most useful where learning is part of a wider system of support, rather than a stand-alone intervention.

Organisational access options (overview)

Different levels of involvement may include:

  • Core access: bulk-supported access to the learning journey
  • Linked access: coordinated access for groups such as new parents or school transitions
  • Lead practitioner involvement: structured use within settings, which may include workshops or guided implementation

👉 The level of support and involvement depends on local context and need.

Practitioner development

Where professionals are supporting families more actively, additional training pathways are available to deepen understanding and confidence in using the approach within practice.

👉 Practitioner Training progresses in relation to your local context and needs.

ACCESS OPTION 3: DEVELOPMENT AND PILOT WORK

Learning and improving the system

In partnership with Relationship Health Matters CIC, we develop and test approaches to improving how relationship health learning is delivered and accessed in real-world settings.

This includes pilot projects, local initiatives, and evaluation work designed to strengthen impact and accessibility.

NEXT STEPS:

If you are a professional, practitioner, or organisation:

👉 You can begin by exploring the most appropriate access route
👉 Or contact us to discuss how this might work in your setting

Most conversations focus on:

  • how families can access support easily
  • how this fits with existing work
  • and what level of involvement is needed locally
