Relationship Health Matters CIC was set up to promote practical relationship health learning as part of prevention and early intervention.

These pilot projects are designed to help professionals, practitioners, and families access timely, relevant training—before challenges become more complex.

We are currently offering a range of funded pilot opportunities in the Kendal area, including bursaries, guided learning, and community support.

Kendal Educators Project

Kendal Educators Project

For schools ready to develop relationship health pathways for staff and families.

Eligibility: 

  • You work in a school serving families with a Kendal GP
  • You have an active interest in relationship health thinking for your school

What you get:

  • Funded Level 1–2 I Matter online learning (1–2 staff)
  • Potential access to additional professional training
  • Opportunity to pilot parent-support microprojects

What’s expected:

  • Your school registers for an I Matter Organisation Starter License
  • Complete learning within 4 months (~1–2 hours/week)
  • Share feedback to help shape the programme

Kendal Educators Study Support

For educators who have a Level 1–2 bursary and want structured support to complete their learning with confidence.

Eligibility: 

  • You work in a school serving families with a Kendal GP
  • You have an online Level 1-2 account
  • You have an active interest in I Matter practitioner training

What you get:

  • Get Started workshop to orientate your learning
  • Ongoing group study sessions and/or 1:1 office hours support
  • Opportunity to deepen learning alongside other professionals
  • Potential access to additional funded professional training

What’s expected:

  • Your school has an I Matter organisation starter license
  • Complete Level 1–2 learning within 4 months
  • Attend 6 support sessions (group or 1:1 check-ins)
  • Share feedback to help improve the learning experience

For professionals in the Kendal Plus area who have had historic involvement in I Matter Learning

Eligibility: 

  • You work as a professional in the Kendal Plus area
  • You have taken part in an I Matter Fundamentals class or accessed online I Matter Learning

What you get:

  • Funded Level 1–2 I Matter online learning 
  • Option to apply to funded study support sessions

What’s expected:

  • Your school registers for an I Matter Organisation Starter License
  • Revisit your online learning within 6 months (~1–2 hours/week)
  • Share feedback to help shape the programme

Online Learning Pilot – Preparation & Prevention

For Link Professionals supporting parents to access early relationship health learning using an I Matter informed approach.


Who this is for (Eligibility)

Parents who:

  • Are registered with a Kendal or Western Dales GP
  • Have a child aged 2–6 years or 11–12 years
  • Have had an initial discussion with a Certified Link Professional
  • Are not currently experiencing significant concerns, but are motivated to learn
  • Are willing to contribute feedback to support development of the resource

What parents receive

  • Access to Level 1–2 I Matter online learning
  • Access to the I Matter Online Learning Community
  • Opportunity to submit questions and join monthly live Q&A sessions
  • Early access to a developing prevention and preparation approach

What’s expected (shared with parents)

  • Completion within approximately 4 months
  • Light-touch check-ins with the Link Professional
  • Feedback to help shape and improve the pilot


Places & Funding

  • Up to 5 parent places per Link Professional (within 12 months)
  • Funded via I Matter Training in association with Relationship Health Matters CIC

Online Learning Pilot – Mild to Moderate Concerns

For Lead Professionals supporting parents where there are some current concerns, using an I Matter informed approach to guide structured learning and support.


Who this is for (Eligibility)

Parents who:

  • Are registered with a Kendal or Western Dales GP
  • Have a child aged 2–10 years or 11–14 years
  • Have had initial discussions with a Certified Link or Lead Professional
  • Are experiencing mild to moderate concerns and are motivated to learn
  • Are willing to contribute feedback to support development of the resource

What parents receive

  • Access to Level 1–2 I Matter online learning
  • Access to the I Matter Online Learning Community
  • Opportunity to submit questions and join monthly live Q&A sessions
  • Structured support from a Lead Professional alongside learning

What’s expected (shared with parents)

  • Agreement to a study support plan (typically 6 sessions with a Lead Professional)
  • Completion of the learning within approximately 4 months
  • Ongoing communication with the Lead Professional about progress
  • Feedback to help shape and improve the pilot

  2. Determine suitability for supported learning with you and motivation and readiness for change
  3. Offer a priorities consultation (including questionnaire and joint review where appropriate)
  4. Agree whether online learning is a good fit at this stage
  5. Share access to the online introduction
  6. Agree a structured support plan (e.g. 6 sessions)
  7. Provide access to Level 1–2 learning
  8. Review progress and complete a short evaluation together

How this works

Your Lead Professional will guide you through a more supported process:

1. Start with a conversation
You’ll talk together about your current concerns and whether this approach could help

2. Attend a priorities consultation
You may be invited to complete a short questionnaire and take part in a consultation to help identify what would be most useful

You’ll decide whether online learning is the right next step

4. Begin your learning with support
If you go ahead, you’ll access the online learning alongside a series of support sessions

5. Stay connected and review progress
You’ll have regular check-ins and an opportunity to reflect on what’s helping



Kendal Plus Parents via a Lead Professional - Higher Complexity

Online Learning Pilot – Moderate to Higher Complexity & Additional Needs

For parents supported by a Lead Professional where there are moderate to higher complexity needs, exploring relationship health and an I Matter informed approach to supporting wellbeing for self and family.


Who this is for (Eligibility)

Parents who:

  • Are registered with a Kendal or Western Dales GP
  • Have a child aged 2–10 years or 11–14 years
  • Have had initial discussions with a Certified Link or Lead Professional
  • Are experiencing ongoing concerns alongside motivation to engage in learning and support
  • Are willing to contribute feedback to support development of the resource

What parents receive

  • Access to Level 1–2 I Matter online learning
  • Access to the I Matter Online Learning Community
  • Opportunity to submit questions for recorded Q&A and join monthly live sessions
  • Structured support alongside learning from a Lead Professional
  • Early access to a developing prevention and preparation approach

What’s expected (shared with parents)

  • A structured support plan agreed with your Lead Professional (typically around 6 sessions)
  • Completion of learning within approximately 4 months
  • Light-touch updates with your Lead Professional on progress
  • Feedback to help shape and improve the pilot


Places & Funding

  • Up to 5 parent places per Lead Professional (within 12 months)
  • Funded via I Matter Training in association with Relationship Health Matters CIC

How the pathway works (for Lead Professionals)

  1. Introduce the I Matter approach through conversation, consultation, or local workshop
  2. Determine suitability for supported learning with you, and motivation and readiness for change
  3. Explore whether the online learning pathway is appropriate
  4. Offer a priorities consultation where needed (questionnaire + joint discussion with Lead / Lead Plus Professional if appropriate)
  5. Confirm whether to proceed to online introduction
  6. Agree a structured support plan (e.g. 6 sessions)
  7. Provide access to Level 1–2 online learning
  8. Continue support alongside learning and review progress
  9. Complete a short end-of-pilot evaluation
