I Matter Relationship Health Training Getting Started Workshops

All successful journeys start with noticing new details that have been overlooked

GETTING STARTED WORKSHOPS AND WEBINARS
INTRODUCING RELATIONSHIP HEALTH AND
THE I MATTER FRAMEWORK

A Live Getting Started Workshop is a good way to start off an I Matter Learning Journey.   In a workshop we travel fast through some important ideas.   Later as you work online you will have a chance to deepen your understanding and think about your own role.

The aim of  I Matter  Relationship Health Training is to increase awareness and understanding of what relationship health is and the research on which it is based. On completion, learners will have a greater appreciation of the significance of relationship health to physical health and mental health, including the seeds of relationship health in childhood and the process of relationship health restoration.

  • Step 1-2   Introducing the I Matter Framework and I Matter approach to Relationship Health
  • Step 3-4   Working with the I Matter Process – focus direct relationships with children
  • Step 5       The I Matter Wheel - Everyday applications of the I Matter Framework in practice
  • Extended Journey        Applications of the I Matter Framework in practice
  • Supporting Others       Supporting adults or young people on an I Matter Journey

By the end of Core Course of Stage 1-5  study, participants should be able to:

  • Understand and define what relationship health is
  • Describe the evidence base around how relationship health underpins mental health and physical health
  • Identify the key components of relationship health with children and with adults
  • Have explored the applications of a relationship health perspective to case studies relevant to their own setting
  • Be able to identify when there is a likely relationship ill-health component in a specific situation with a child or adult
  • Be able to implement a relationship health intervention with a child in a direct relationship
  • List the sources of further information and where to signpost people to for more resources and support.

In order to offer study support for an I Matter Intervention with adults as well as children, Supporting Others Certification training is required.

We do not offer a Train the Trainer option.  We can work with  you to build capacity for supported learning and on the task of embedding Relationship Health principles into everyday practices.
