About the I Matter® Framework Fundamentals

The I Matter® Framework Fundamentals offers a back to basics joined up accessible look at the overlooked issue of how the brain plays a role in everyday challenges and how relationship health is often a missing link in recovery of wellbeing.

The I Matter® Framework Fundamentals is a self-directed, psychoeducational course that sits within a wider programme designed to support joined up thinking.   It helps professionals and parents and individuals to understand the process of ‘sensitised dynamic loops’ that commonly emerge in high demand situations and it provides an explanation for why a lot of thinking and practice around adult and child wellbeing needs to shift if we want to see better results.

This training changes the way we understand and respond to many things including anxiety and challenging behaviour, EBSA, school exclusion, relationship difficulties, family and community breakdown and the growing array of diagnosed physical and psychological and psychiatric conditions.  It also provides individuals with tools to help themselves grow in confidence and move forward with a wide range of challenges.

Grounded in decades of research, and complemented by the I Matter® Five Steps to Success and the I Matter® Community Wheel this training offers an evidence based, optimistic direction of travel and a practical step by step way of explaining ideas that are vital for anyone seeking to improve prevention, early intervention and SEND services.

Those committed to self help and personal and professional development in relation to a wide range of challenges will find the engaging resources support precious opportunities for conversations and learning that matters.

COURSE SUMMARY
The term 'a relationship health approach' to improving wellbeing for young people and adults has rarely been used to date.  However there is a very rich decades old evidence base from many highly experienced practitioners that supports it.   So, why all this clear research evidence not penetrating our everyday practices in education and in health and community?   The purpose of this training in the I Matter Framework Fundamentals is to help make the conclusions of this research evidence easier to understand and highly practical, principally by using a clear visuals to show how ideas that seemed contradictory can be joined up.   The aim is to show how this research is relevant today for YOU.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This training requires commitment and determination to learn.  It is suitable for anyone who is really determined to learn and reflect on  the theory but about the everyday implications for their OWN role and own learning path.    If you want to use it to bring about results you will have to be ready not just to learn but also to change and grow.

It will be of interest to professionals in education and in health or community.  It will be of interest to determined individuals or parents or carers at any stage of the learning of parenting or personal development.  The content can be accessible to young people who are supported by informed adults.  Participants may already:

+  Be asking questions and are committed to learning what they can do to make a difference
+  Be committed to personal development in professional and personal roles but are finding all the ideas rather confusing
+  Be willing to make time not just to learn but to put their learning into practice in their key relationships
+  Recognise the need to commit to an extended learning process over time to see results
+  Want to work with others who are committed to learning and growing too but want a shared language

Professionals and non-professionals learn the I Matter Framework to have a strong theory foundation that can support case formulation and everyday problem formulation.

The training is not intended to replace other good training but instead aims to fill a vacuum by providing strong foundations and resources that can support reflective discussions and build shared understanding over time.

This is training that everyone wishes they had had much earlier in their professional and parenting and personal relationships journey.
