In I Matter wellbeing groups, you will be learning about the overlooked issue of relationship health. In a personal wellbeing group our focus is on your relationship with you. Decades of research evidence has demonstrated that relationship health supports wellbeing and confidence of adults and children and that it is supported by an authoritative style of parenting which is supported by a communication style known as emotion coaching. These communication skills have been proven to assist your children become more resilient, independent and emotionally mature in the process.
Courses generally run for 90min hours each week, over a period of 6 weeks (a total of 12 hours).
Groups will be kept small and have a maximum of 8 parents and are lead with 1 or 2 facilitators. You will be introduced to the I Matter Framework Fundamentals which uses some key posters to explain important evidence based ideas. You will learn more about child development, brain development and your own role including what to expect as age-appropriate behaviour in children or teens. You will be taught skills of “Emotion Coaching” including why these skills help your child progress and mature. You will be practicing these skills throughout the course.
You will get a chance to meet other parents in similar situations, with opportunities to share and learn in a safe and supportive environment

There are fewer mental health issues or poor coping strategies and greater likelihood of career and relationship success.

Each group is facilitated by fully trained I Matter accredited professionals.
Groups are currently all run by Clinical Psychologists and experienced CAMHS practitioners.
They can however be run by a range of experienced professionals.
The cost for groups vary according to details and may sometimes be funded and sometimes self-funded
Supported Fundamentals groups are approx £600, or £1100 per couple.
Online groups are £500, or £900 per couple.
All groups are to be paid prior to commencement unless funded by your organisation
Face to face includes 12 hours of group, the support of a trained professional, online access. handouts and resources
