How it works
The I Matter Learning System operates through two core programmes with monthly intake cycles, delivered during term time.
Each programme begins with completion of the online introduction, followed by an optional Ask Anything session to clarify questions before deciding whether to continue.
A Get Started session takes place approximately two weeks later as the formal entry point into learning pathways.
Key principles
- Two core programmes (self-funded and funded)
- Monthly intake cycles for different audiences
- New starts each month
- Additional Study support is limited and role-specific
1. SELF-FUNDED OPEN ACCESS PROGRAMME
For professionals, parents, and carers (open to all)
- Week 1: Ask Anything (post online introduction)
- Week 3: Get Started (entry into Open Access pathways)
Leads into:
- Community Wheel (Monthly - Week 1 online session)
- Fundamentals / Level 1–2 (self-funded learning pathways)
- Extra study support for professionals offered via I Matter
- Extra study support for parents-carers offered via partner organisations
2. KENDAL PLUS FUNDED SUPPORTED PROGRAMME
Access only via participating GP, school, or partner organisation referral
- Week 2 of the month: Ask Anything (Parents & Carers – Primary focus)
- Week 3 of the month: Ask Anything (Professionals)
- Week 4 of the month: Ask Anything (Parents & Carers – Secondary focus)
- Week 5 of the month: Ask Anything (Personal Wellbeing focus)
- Get Started sessions follow approximately two weeks later as cohort entry points into funded strands
3. EXTRA SERIES STUDY SUPPORT: 6 x FORTNIGHTLY SESSIONS
Varied times of the week
- Professional Open Strand (Weeks 1 and 3)
- Kendal Plus Professional Practice Strand (Weeks 2 and 4)
- Kendal Plus Primary Family Strand (Weeks 1 and 3)
- Kendal Plus Secondary Family Strand (Weeks 2 and 4)
- Kendal Plus Personal Wellbeing Strand (TBC)
🧭 Study Support
- Study support is available on a structured basis during term time only
- Additional study support after Get Started is available only for professionals within the Open Access programme
- Parent-carer study support is only provided within Kendal Plus funded cohorts in partnership with organisations
- Study support is not a general add-on service outside these structures
“The I Matter Learning System operates through two core programmes (Open Access and Kendal Plus), both preceded by an online introduction and optional Ask Anything sessions, with Get Started acting as the formal entry point into structured learning pathways and limited study support provided according to programme type and role.”
