I Matter Parent-Carers - Supported Learning
FINDING THE WAY FORWARD WITH MEMBER SCHOOLS AND SERVICES
I MATTER SUPPORTED LEARNING FOR PARENTS AND CARERS - VIA MEMBER SCHOOLS AND SERVICES
SINCE COVID-19: THE INITIAL STEPS FOR PARENTS-CARERS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Parents-carers wanting just a taster may complete the introduction and Core 1 Parents and Carers seeking a more focussed approach will do Core 1 and Core 2
Our programme of supported training for parents and carers is accessed via the support of approved Link or Lead professionals who are independent practitioners or part of member schools and services. Some supported learning is offered individually and others via in person groups and some via online or telephone groups. Under COVID no in person support or groups are being offered.
Professionals and Schools and services can become Licensed as a Link School to enable referred access to parents and carers to group learning or self-paced learning. The timing of classes and the availability of places can be viewed here. All potential participants must complete the introductory course and an initial application first followed by an in depth registration questionnaire if we can offer a place.
Alternatively professionals can become licensed as Lead Professionals so as to be able to offer in-house study support for online learning. The cost of courses for parents accessing support from Lead Professionals in house is at a substantial reduction. If there is any concern about escalation or raised stress levels, then an initial questionnaire and consultation must always be completed.
