I MATTER YOUNG PERSON AWARDS: DETAILS

YOUNG PERSON AWARDS

The I Matter Young Person Awards can be for:
+ Young People in relationship to their own issues with anxiety or behaviour that others find challenging
+ Siblings of young people who are struggling
+ Young people in families where adults have mental health difficulties or other challenges

Whilst we can offer Young Person programmes for the younger child, the I Matter Young Person Awards are intended for young people from aged 10yrs and above.

The Awards are supported through 1:1 or small group or family learning.  Wherever possible, adults are involved in the Awards themselves before young people are invited to take part

Meaning of the Award

PATHWAY CHOICE

The Young Person has completed an initial registration for
+ Prevention Pathway (to Intensive only)
+ Raised Concerns Pathway
+ Longer Term Needs Pathway

I Matter First Steps Award

The young-person has had a taster experience of I Matter thinking including online learning. + May join Community Wheel as Core Member

I Matter Informed Young Person Award

Life Approach informed
by I Matter Principles

The young person has worked through the online Intensive course and has been introduced to the pillars of the I Matter Framework – this is an awareness level only.  It can be taught live, supported by forum, by closed discussion group or very rarely by self help.  The Award requires completion of the online course and reflective process
+ May join Community Wheel as an Active or Extended Member

The Community Wheel Award

The young person has completed the First Steps and Intensive and
+ has taken part in a self-assessment and goal setting process and
+ has worked through study and active actions on the 12 spokes over a period of 12 months to make a meaningful difference

I Matter Informed
Young Person:
Foundation Stage

 
Life approach informed by I Matter Principles – Foundation Stage

The young person has
+ worked through a period of consolidation through Foundation A and B + taken part in a minimum of 12 study support discussions/ reflections.
+ completed a period of supervised use of the ICCCM
+ they have been introduced to the use the ICCCM to inform their thinking about how to think about a focus relationship
+ this is not a professional certification
+ valued prevention level for all parents-carers

I Matter Informed
Young Person: Intermediate Stage

Life Approach informed by I Matter Principles – Intermediate Stage

The young person has
+ worked through a period of consolidation through Intermediate A & B + taken part in a minimum of 20 study support discussions/ reflections. + they have been introduced to the use of the ICCCM/IMDev to inform their thinking about how to help a focus challenge or relationship and assess needs/goals
+ this is NOT a professional certification
+ valued award for all parents-carers of children additional needs
+ May apply to Trainee Parent Mentor

I Matter Informed
Young Person:
Advanced Stage


Life Approach informed by I Matter Principles -Advanced stage

The young person has
+ worked through a period of consolidation through Advanced A & B
+ taken part in a minimum of 30 study support discussions/ reflections
+ they have been introduced to the to use ICCCM/IMDev/Other to inform own decisions about a focus challenge and assess needs/goals
+ this is NOT a professional certification
+ valued award level for all parents-carers additional needs
+ May apply to Trainee Young Peopel Mentor

I Matter Certified YP Mentor

This young person has nearly completed or completed the Stage 1 certification steps and is now supporting others with forum and study support discussions
Suitable for young people with an interest in supporting I Matter journeys for other young people in a voluntary capacity
