Welcome to I Matter Organisation Partnership
This agreement sets out the terms under which your organisation may access and use the I Matter® Online Learning System.
The aim of the I Matter® approach is to develop understanding and practical application of relationship health through learning, reflection and everyday practice. It provides a shared language and practical framework that can be used across health, education, community and voluntary settings to strengthen relationships, resilience and wellbeing.
This agreement creates a licence for organisational use and should be read alongside:
- the Individual Participation Agreement
- the Resource Guide
- the Terms and Conditions within the learning platform
- Nature of the Service
The I Matter® system is a psychoeducational learning and practice support programme.
It provides:
- online learning
- downloadable resources
- practical tools and frameworks
- optional facilitated study support
- guidance for developing relationship health in practice
The programme is educational in nature. It is not therapy, counselling, or a clinical service and does not replace safeguarding responsibilities, clinical judgement, or specialist services.
- Organisation Practice Licence
This licence permits the organisation to use I Matter® resources for internal learning, staff development, and service delivery.
Subject to the agreed licence level, the organisation may:
- provide staff with access to online learning
- use downloadable resources within the organisation
- print resources for internal organisational use
- use posters, checklists, discussion guides, and other materials in everyday practice
- facilitate relationship health activities with individuals, families, and groups
- incorporate I Matter® approaches into supervision, reflective practice, and service development
This licence is granted solely to the purchasing organisation.
- Scope of Access
The agreed licence will specify:
- number of named platform users included
- licence duration
- level of organisational access
- any additional services or study support
Additional named users may be added during the licence period under the current pricing structure.
Platform access is provided only for authorised users.
Internal organisational use of licensed resources is governed by this agreement.
- The Nature of I Matter Resources
I Matter® resources are psychoeducational tools designed to support awareness, learning, and relational capacity-building.
They are not clinical interventions.
Organisations remain responsible for determining how resources are embedded into local practice, including training, supervision, and safeguarding arrangements.
- Use of Resources in Practice
Access to I Matter® resources is provided through the online platform and/or organisational agreement.
Resources may include:
- posters and visual materials
- checklists and reflection tools
- activity guides
- online learning materials
- downloadable practice resources
Access to resources does not in itself determine how they may be used in practice within an organisation.
Organisations may use licensed resources internally in accordance with their safeguarding responsibilities, practitioner capability, and supervision structures.
- Use of Resources within Organisations
Organisations holding a licence may:
- download and print resources for internal use
- display awareness materials in organisational settings
- use resources within staff development or CPD activity
- use materials in facilitated workshops or group sessions
- incorporate resources into relational learning and engagement activities
All use must remain consistent with organisational safeguarding policies and professional standards.
- Facilitated Practice and Practitioner Capability in Using Resources
Where resources are used in facilitated contexts (including workshops, group sessions, or supported engagement with individuals or families), this should be undertaken by appropriately trained personnel operating within recognised I Matter® practitioner roles (e.g. Link or Lead Practitioners).
Facilitated use involves responsibility for:
- relational facilitation and containment
- awareness of readiness and appropriateness of engagement
- safeguarding awareness and escalation pathways where required
- alignment with organisational supervision and governance systems
Access to resources does not automatically confer permission to deliver facilitated programmes unless appropriate practitioner capability is in place.
- Resource Categories
To support consistent use, I Matter® resources are organised into three categories:
+ Awareness Resources (light facilitation optional)
These include posters, infographics, and introductory materials designed to stimulate reflection and conversation about relationship health.
They may be used:
- independently by individuals
- or introduced through light facilitation in teams, services, or community settings
Some resources (e.g. “Let’s Talk Relationship Health”) include structured prompts to support informal discussion without requiring formal practitioner training.
+ Learning Resources
These include online learning, discussion activities, reflection tools, and study materials designed to support professional development and shared understanding.
They may be used for:
- self-directed CPD
- structured organisational learning
- supported professional reflection
+ Practice Resources
Practice Resources support the application of I Matter® in direct work with individuals, families, groups, and communities.
They include planning tools, implementation guides, and reflective frameworks that support practitioners to structure and develop relational practice over time.
Practice Resources should be used by practitioners who have completed relevant I Matter® learning pathways or equivalent preparation recognised by the organisation.
- Learning Pathways
The I Matter® learning pathways support safe and consistent use of the framework.
They may include:
- Awareness Learning
- Core Level 1–3 Learning
- Link Practitioner development
- Lead Practitioner development
- additional specialist or advanced learning
Completion of a pathway supports practitioner capability but does not confer rights to deliver or accredit external training.
- Practice Contexts
The I Matter® framework applies across:
- children and young people’s services
- education settings
- family and early help services
- adult and community services
- organisational wellbeing and workforce development
Core principles of relationship health remain consistent across all contexts.
- Safe Practice Guidance
Organisational safeguarding and professional standards apply at all times.
Use of I Matter® resources should:
- align with practitioner competence
- be supported by supervision where appropriate
- not replace escalation where concerns arise
- be used in accordance with organisational safeguarding systems
I Matter® resources are supported by a separate Complexity & Application Guidance document which outlines appropriate use across different levels of engagement and practice contexts.
- Implementation Support
The I Matter® Implementation Pathway provides guidance on how organisations typically introduce and embed the approach.
It is provided as supporting guidance only and does not form part of the contractual obligations of this agreement.
- Organisational Responsibilities
The organisation agrees to:
- nominate an appropriate contact
- ensure participants understand the educational nature of the programme
- provide safeguarding and supervision structures
- determine appropriate practitioner readiness for Practice Resources
- ensure respectful use of materials
- comply with this agreement
- Participant Responsibilities
Each participant must:
- accept the Individual Participation Agreement
- respect confidentiality in learning contexts
- use resources appropriately within their role
- comply with organisational policies
- Training and Accreditation
This licence supports internal learning only.
It does not permit:
- delivery of official I Matter® training externally
- certification of practitioners
- reproduction or rebranding of materials
- commercial use of I Matter® intellectual property
Separate agreements are required for training partnerships.
- Intellectual Property
All materials remain the intellectual property of I Matter Training Ltd unless otherwise stated.
They may not be:
- copied for external distribution
- adapted or rebranded
- sold or sublicensed
- shared outside the licensed organisation without permission
- Confidentiality and Data Protection
Processing of personal data complies with UK GDPR.
Organisations remain responsible for safeguarding, confidentiality, and information governance.
- Fees and Renewal
Fees, user numbers, and renewal terms are confirmed via quotation, invoice, or subscription agreement.
Licences may be upgraded by agreement.
- Limitation of Liability
I Matter Training Ltd provides educational content and practice support.
Responsibility for professional judgement, safeguarding, and implementation remains with the organisation.
- Termination
Either party may terminate with 30 days’ notice unless otherwise agreed.
- Acceptance
This agreement should be read alongside our standard Terms and Conditions for use of www.imattertraining.com online site.
By accepting this agreement, the organisation confirms that it:
- understands the nature of the programme
- accepts the Organisation Practice Licence
- will use resources in accordance with this agreement
- will ensure appropriate practitioner preparation for Practice Resources
