One BIG OVERLOOKED ISSUE is the significance of the health of the adult-child relationship for multiple outcomes.
The second BIG ISSUE: is the adults understanding (at school and at home) of children's social emotional development - and their own adult role.
So I Matter Training can help health and education and community leaders work into this key but complex area of practice. You will gain the understanding and the supportive network enabling you to take your community in a much needed new direction.
The I Matter Framework aims to organise a lot of complex ideas into something helpful that ordinary professionals and parents can understand to support joined up thinking

About I Matter Framework Training
The I Matter Framework is a carefully constructed psycho-educational training package based on an integration of decades of well-established evidence about what children need to thrive and why. It was drawn together by Dr Cathy Betoin, a practising clinical psychologist, an experienced teacher and a parent, in response to seeing the challenges experienced everyday by practitioners and parents and carers who were looking for help for children and unable to access it.
I Matter Training is carefully designed to help professionals and parents and young people find their way through the confusion and the fog that can be found in stressed and challenging relationships via a learning together approach that cements stronger local community relationships.
How Exactly Does I Matter Training Help Leaders to Help Challenging Young People and Staff and Parents?
This is how the leadership development programme works
1. Individuals in leadership positions commit to studying the I Matter Framework whilst keeping in mind a focus child AND the development needs of their own setting. Participants are encouraged to first attend an I Matter Foundation Intensive and follow-up and are asked to commit to the online Foundation learning programme.
2. Group sessions are an opportunity to think with others about the implications of the I Matter Framework as applied to the nitty gritty of everyday life with challenging children. There is a huge amount of opportunity to process these implications. In your small group you will have hot seat opportunities to think aloud about your learning and seek group support.
3. Over a 12 month period the group will provide support as you explore the everyday challenges of implementing the implications of I Matter in your setting to support more effective practice with challenging or struggling children and their families.
