The conclusions of the careful work to bring all the research evidence together highlighted some important conclusions

Too much of our practice with children is NOT evidence based and does not respect decades of accumulated research

We have ignored the significance of the adult child relationship

We have ignored the signficance of children's social emotional development 

We have ignred the impact of excessive top down directives on teachers and on children's stress levels 

Parenting is an after thought in the Green Paper on Children's Mental Health and In Future in Mind

Education policy completely ignores developmental thinking

Core training for a full range of professionals who work with children does not cover children's development

Teachers, social workers, GP;s, Psychologists.   The foudations are not covered adequately

The fact that this is so poorly understood is evident everywhere when you start to see more clearly

So the I Matter Project has to be a compaigning organisation 

We need to shift course - because prevention is much better than cure

We need to invest in parenting and caring - at present there is no responsible agency representing these vital needs

We need to ensure children's and adults's fundamental emotional needs are met especially when they are most vulnerable

Ignoring the wellbeing of many has significant impact on everyone,
