Making a Difference - 5 or 10 Steps on an I Matter Journey

If a martian came to planet Earth they would look with bewilderment at how we care for our children and our planet.   We place too many of our precious offspring in schools and nurseries with curriculum that don’t meet their developmental needs and with support structures that don’t meet the needs of those adults who love and care most for them.

The martian would see why the current state of the planet is the result of this neglect of the fundamental needs of too many children and our adult neglect of our own importance.  We have forgotten to pay attention to what human beings need most in order to thrive.

To experience wellbeing - human beings need healthy relationships

Relationships take work - they depend on some important skills we all have to practice.

Healthy relationships can emerge only when we pay attention to some key linked issues

We describe these linked issues using the I Matter Wheel

So the  most ambitious vision or goal of the I Matter Project is to change or influence at least the above sad story connected to the wellbeing of our children.  The integration of psychological research that you will find in I Matter training is really really clear.   YOU have a role to play - whether you are a professional or a parent or a young person - as in order for there to be a different story in our communities and for our planet these important but overlooked relationship issues need to be tackled in every community, in every organisation, in every school, in every home - ie in every relationship.

This is an I Matter story.  Everyone is important.  I Matter is not replacing other good ideas and practices it is designed simply to help join up the dots so that communities can work better together with the resources we have for what we say we want.  When you know why YOU matter, then you can work with others who know that THEY matter to help those who don’t YET know that they matter.

Our goal is happier communities with much happier healthier relationships for children.

Having money matters a lot but where well-being is concerned it is clearly NOT the most important thing.

We can be sure that there is enough on this planet for our needs but not for our greed.

Yet change can only happen through individual decisions to work on the issues that seem challenging

At home or out and about

So I Matter Traiing aims to offer a bit of assistance on that path.   We have done just a bit of the thinking for you.

Therefore here is a Personal or Professional 10 step training journey that can be travelled by those who want to work on this important task with others using I Matter as a Framework
